Welcome to Social Life! Here is a list of the things that you will need if you wish to raid with us. Don’t worry, there’s nothing here that’s going to cost you money. Items listed here are to help you perform to the best of your ability. Requirements

Knowledge

• WoWWiki: A great place to learn about boss fights. Gives general descriptions of all things Warcraft related.
• Bosskillers: Strategy guides and other information about bosses and their abilities. A must read if you’re going to fight a boss for the first time.
• Elitist Jerks: A guild forum devoted to class mechanics. Registration is not needed to browse, and you can often learn things about how to increase your effectiveness.

Communication

• Ventrilo: Voice chat software. This allows raid leaders to be able to easily communicate with members without having to type. Microphone is optional.

Addons

• DBM or oRA+Bigwigs: These are bossmods. They perform little functions like displaying timers on your screen and formatting raid warnings. They are absolutely required unless you have been given explicit permission from an officer to raid without them.
• Omen: This is a threat meter. It will essentially let you know if you’re getting to close to the main tanks aggro level. Once you pass the main tank, the boss isn’t going to be too happy with you, so it’s a good idea to know where you stand.

  • Pally Power: Pally Power is an add-on that provides an interactive and easy to use interface that allows you to control assignments of blessings for yourself and, if you are a party leader or an assistant, for other paladins in your group or raid.
